The Prime Minister recently revealed his ten-point plan for a green industrial revolution, outlining a set of initiatives tailored towards the UK achieving net zero carbon emissions by 2050. One key element this announcement centred on was ‘homes and public buildings’, with a focus on “making our homes, schools and hospitals greener, warmer and more energy efficient, whilst creating 50,000 jobs by 2030, and a target to install 600,000 heat pumps every year by 2028.”

Already a well-established technology in the UK, it was pleasing that the government highlighted heat pumps as a key driver in reducing the country’s carbon emissions.
