LEADING THE WAY IN RENEWABLE WATER HEATING

The Prime Minister recently revealed his ten-point plan for a green industrial revolution, outlining a set of initiatives tailored towards the UK achieving net zero carbon emissions by 2050. One key element this announcement centred on was ‘homes and public buildings’, with a focus on “making our homes, schools and hospitals greener, warmer and more energy efficient, whilst creating 50,000 jobs by 2030, and a target to install 600,000 heat pumps every year by 2028.”

With sustainability at the heart of everything we do at Ariston, we fully support the drive towards energy efficiency. An increased commitment towards low carbon technologies at government level can only benefit our industry in terms of future investment and planning, particularly as far as heat pumps are concerned.

Already a well-established technology in the UK, it was pleasing that the government highlighted heat pumps as a key driver in reducing the country’s carbon emissions. Indeed, our very own NUOS Plus heat pump water heater encompasses energy efficiency, premium design and reliability – it can even save up to 75% more energy when compared to a traditional electric storage water heater.

Successfully combining a floor standing unvented cylinder with an air source heat pump water heater, the NUOS Plus boasts a market-leading COP of 3.14, meaning that for every kilowatt of energy it uses, it generates 3.14 kilowatts of heat. Units are also quiet running, producing only 50dB of noise, which is the same as an average refrigerator. Available in 200L direct and 250L indirect models, these units are ideal for users looking to add energy efficient, renewable technologies to their homes or if their properties are off the gas grid.

The ten-point plan also outlines initiatives designed to mobilise £12billion of government investment to create and support up to 250,000 specialist ‘green’ jobs. This is also vital if we are to achieve net zero carbon emissions by 2050, as skilled workers will have essential roles to play in fitting, maintaining and servicing the latest renewable technologies.
