Global energy consumption in 2018 posted rates of growth nearly double the average since 2010. Global energy demand has increased by 2.3%, driven by strong growth in the economy.

The European Green Deal is the EU’s response to the crisis of climate change, calling for the definition of a binding law, for all members, aimed at achieving climate neutrality by 2050 and reducing polluting emissions of 50% (vs. 1990 levels) by 2030. One of the aspects of the move is the decarbonization of the energy industry.

The 2019 report of the International Energy Agency has also underscored how an increase in energy efficiency is crucial to containing CO2 emissions by 2040.

THE FORMULA

At Ariston Thermo, energy efficiency has long been at the core of our strategy for sustainable growth. In 2019, more than 40% of our investment went to research and development directed at renewable products, and new, high-efficiency technologies will make it possible to reduce CO2 emissions by more than three million metric tons by 2022.*

OUR CIRCULAR ECONOMY

Our vision for the circular economy involves the use of increasingly green forms of packaging materials, the design of energy-efficient, low-emission products, and the implementation of various projects for the efficient recycling of electrical and electronic equipment. In collaboration with waste-management foundations and consortia, we provide installers and distributors with recycling services entirely free of charge.
