Aristide Merloni Foundation celebrates its 50th anniversary

The Aristide Merloni Foundation celebrated in Fabriano its fiftieth anniversary with a one-day seminar entitled “From business clusters to long supply chains. Internationalization models of companies and territorial competitiveness”.

The seminar was participated by the Foundation’s President, Francesco Merloni, the Italian Prime Minister Enrico Letta (who attended via video from Rome), the former President of the European Commission Romano Prodi, the CEO of Luxottica Andrea Guerra, and the President of the Marches Region Gian Mario Spacca.

“The country needs a shock, we are not heading for decline, and if Italy wakes up it can succeed” – these were the words of Francesco Merloni in greeting the numerous attendants who filled Fabriano’s Gentile Theatre – “we need to expand our know-how, invest more in youth education and, with regard to companies, in innovation and promotion of a culture of cooperation. From here to 2020, the EU calculates that manufacturing in Europe will grow by 20-30%, and Italy is currently the second largest manufacturing country after Germany.”

The seminar was conducted in collaboration with CENSIS (Centre for Social Investment Studies) and the Polytechnic University of the Marches.
